How To Deep Clean Allbirds’ Shoes, Mizzles, Laces, Insoles?

Allbirds shoes are super comfy and will probably make you feel like a million bucks.

They’re great for everyday use, and everyone wants to know how to wash Allbirds shoes to ensure they keep their newness.

But it can be confusing trying to clean off the occasional stain or deep clean your new Allbirds shoes that are covered in stains.

Follow our quick guide on how to clean your Allbirds shoes and choose from different methods for cleaning different components and variants of Allbirds shoes.

How to Wash Allbirds Shoes?

Are your Allbirds feeling a little dirty? We get it.

If you own an allbirds shoe, you know that they are not only stylish and comfortable, but they’re also durable. But even the most durable shoes need a little TLC.

Here’s how to deep clean your Allbirds:

1. Remove the insoles and laces from your shoes.

2. Brush off any dirt with a towel or soft brush.

3. Put your shoes in the washing machine on a wool/delicates cycle (cold water).

4. We recommend using a linen bag and washing the insoles by hand for best results because this will keep them looking their best for longer than if you put them into the dryer (which can make pores in leather shrink).

5. Use a gentle detergent and avoid bleach at all costs—it will ruin your shoes!

6. Don’t tumble dry your Allbirds—they’ll end up looking stiff, shiny, and plastic-like after sitting around too long with hot air blowing on them while they dry out (and no one wants that).

7. Now your shoes will be good as new again!

How to Wash Allbirds Shoelaces?

When you’re done exercising, playing sports, or just hanging out with your friends, we know how frustrating it can be to get your shoes off and then struggle to get all the dirt out of your shoelaces.

And when dirt gets into your shoelaces? It’s like having a dirty mess on your hands—you end up having to take them off and wash them separately because there’s just too much dirt in there.

It’s recommended that you follow these steps:

1. Add some warm water and a few drops of laundry detergent into a bowl.

2. Add the laces into the soapy solution and let them soak for at least 15 minutes (to get any dirt off of them).

3. Let the laces soak for at least 15 minutes before squeezing out the soapy solution through them to help release dirt and soil from the laces.

4. Rinse in warm or cool water until clean.

5. Hang up to dry in a well-ventilated area!

How to Deep Clean Stains From Allbirds Shoes?

No matter what kind of shoe you have, stains are a common problem. Whether it’s from food or dirt, stains can be tough to get out. But they’re not impossible!

Here’s how to deep clean stains from your allbirds shoes:

1. Put a small amount of gentle, liquid laundry soap directly on the soiled spot with your fingers or a soft-bristled brush.

2. Gently work the detergent into the sneaker fabric before letting it sit for at least 15 minutes to break down the stains.

3. Once the soil has been broken down, add your shoes to the washer with regular detergents and warm water. You can use any type of detergent—just make sure it’s gentle enough not to damage your sneakers’ materials.

4. Rinse thoroughly and air dry completely before wearing them again.

Note:

The all-natural materials used in Allbirds shoes are a little delicate, so don’t try to scrub away with a tough brush or scrubber. Instead, be gentle with your sneakers and work with a soft-bristled nylon brush or toothbrush.

How to Wash Allbirds Mizzle?

Allbirds Mizzle is a water-repellent shoe collection that is made for the beach and the gym. It is recommended to hand wash these shoes in cold water, but you can also use a mild detergent like Dawn or Woolite.

If your Allbirds Mizzle shoes are very soiled, we recommend washing them with a brush to remove any dirt or debris. It’s best if you do this by hand because the water-repellent finish on the shoes can be damaged by scrubbing or washing.

One way to ensure you don’t ruin your Mizzle shoes is only to wash them if they are extremely soiled. If you have been wearing them daily, then it’s best to hand wash them gently in a sink or a large plastic tub.

1. If you only have a small amount of dirt on your shoes, use warm water and gentle soap to gently clean it up.

2. If there’s more than just a little bit of dirt stuck to your shoe, spot-cleaning isn’t going to be enough—you’ll need to give them a deep clean!

3. To do so, machine wash your shoes using cold water on a delicate cycle.

4. Be sure to remove the laces and insoles before washing so they don’t get damaged during the process.

5. Then gently brush off any excess dirt with a towel or soft brush before putting them in the washer.

How to Wash Allbirds Insoles?

When it comes to washing your Allbirds insoles, we can’t stress enough that you should treat them gently. The wool and castor bean oil-based insole foam make these insoles incredibly resilient, but they’re also very delicate.

That’s why we recommend that you hand-wash them instead of submerging them in the laundry machine:

1. First, put the insoles in a sink filled with lukewarm water.

2. Put a few drops of detergent on the wool layer of each insole and rub it into the fabric to create lather.

3. Be gentle when you wash your insole. Do not twist or wring it out as it will damage the wool fibers.

4. Rinse well with warm or cool water.

5. Blot the insoles between layers of a towel.

6. Finally, leave the insoles outside of your shoes to air-dry properly.

7. Never place the insoles in a dryer—the heat will ruin the foam because it will melt the glue holding it together.
